At Halsa Mind Medical, we offer a comprehensive and private assessment process for adults seeking clarity and support for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Our approach ensures that you receive an accurate diagnosis, and a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. Please note, this is a private service, and we do not accept NHS referrals.
Step 1: Screening
The first step in your ADHD assessment journey is the screening process.
How to Begin: You can self-refer or be referred by your GP.
Initial Screening: We gather essential information about your physical and mental health history to better understand your current challenges.
Waiting Times: Our current waiting time is less than 4 weeks, ensuring timely access to support.
Once your appointment is booked, we will send you a set of questionnaires to complete. These forms are designed to explore symptoms and their impact on your daily life. Our support staff are available to assist you with completing these questionnaires if needed.
Step 2: Clinical Assessment by a Consultant Psychiatrist
Your clinical assessment is conducted by an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in adult ADHD.
During the consultation, the psychiatrist will review your completed questionnaires, discuss your medical history, and explore the challenges you face.
Diagnosis and Treatment Plan: In most cases, a diagnosis will be made during this session, and a tailored treatment plan will be discussed and agreed upon with you.
Complex Cases: In situations where the diagnosis is less clear or particularly complex, the psychiatrist may refer your case to our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) for further discussion or evaluation. This additional process may take up to 4 weeks to complete
Step 3: Treatment and Follow-Up
Following the assessment, you will receive a detailed treatment plan that may include:
Medical Treatment:
o The cost of initial medical treatment, including private prescriptions, is included in the assessment fees.
o A private prescription for ADHD medication will be issued by the psychiatrist.
Therapeutic Recommendations:
o The psychiatrist may recommend additional therapies such as psychological counselling, occupational therapy, or sensory modulation. Please note that these therapies are not included in the initial assessment fee and may incur additional costs.
Our team is dedicated to supporting you throughout the process, ensuring that you feel confident and informed about your diagnosis and treatment options
